The International Soil Moisture Network (ISMN) participated in the 2025 IAHS Scientific Assembly, held in Roorkee, India, contributing to several sessions and community activities.

Together with the IAHS Soil Moisture Working Group, ISMN co-organized a side event on “Advancing Soil Moisture Measurement and Community Building.” The session focused on recent developments in soil moisture monitoring, challenges in maintaining long-term in situ observations, and opportunities for strengthening collaboration across the global community.

ISMN also presented its ongoing efforts to support the in situ soil moisture community, including recent developments in data integration, quality control, and network expansion.

During the WMO HydroHub–MOXXI workshop, ISMN highlighted its role in building and connecting global soil moisture measurement networks, emphasizing the importance of coordinated international efforts to sustain and advance in situ observations.

ISMN’s active participation at IAHS 2025 contributed to strengthening links within the hydrological community and advancing discussions on the future of soil moisture observations.
