We would like to inform ISMN users about a recently identified issue affecting precipitation data in several networks. Due to a processing error, precipitation values were occasionally cumulated incorrectly over multiple years for some networks.

The issue has now been fully corrected for the following networks: WEGENERNET, BFG_Nw, XMS-CAT, DWD, and ARM.

For the remaining networks — Umbria, DAHRA, OZNET, WATERLINE, RISMA, Calabria, SMN-SDR, HYDROL-NET_PERUGIA, BIEBRZA_S-1, Tereno, and SOILSCAPE — the affected data have been temporarily removed and will be restored as soon as updated datasets are received from the providers.

We kindly advise users who have previously downloaded precipitation data from the affected networks to redownload the corrected datasets for any ongoing analyses or studies. Please note that this correction may also lead to changes in soil moisture quality flags, particularly the precipitation-dependent flag (D04).
